About us

 Lodi Boys & Girls Club

Our Mission:

To enable and inspire all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Lodi Boys & Girls Club has been serving youth since 1963.  We have a bold vision that success is within the reach of every child.  We believe every boy and girl deserves: a safe place to learn and grow; ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals; life-enhancing programs; character-developing experiences; and hope for their future.

The Lodi Boys & Girls Club is a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which has over 4000 affiliated Clubs.  The national affiliation offers input and guidance about how to best serve members.

While today's youth face many challenges, the Lodi Boys & Girls Club continues its long tradition of offering solutions that work. Through frequent participation in Club programs that incorporate key elements of positive growth, the Club fosters positive youth development outcomes.

Lodi Boys & Girls Club is governed by a board of directors. Daily operations are led by Executive Director Roger Coover - email address: ED@bgclodi.com.

Our Impact

The work of the Lodi Boys & Girls Club – the heart of what we do – lies at the center of our Formula for Impact. Our programs are developed around key elements for positive youth development.

1.  Safe, Inclusive Environments

2. Meaningful Programs & Experiences

3. Supportive Relationships

4. Expectations & Recognition

Annual Research

Through data being collected in our members' annual research, we have new insights on just how much of a positive difference the components of a high-quality Club Experience make for young people.

 Youth Programs

We never take a single approach to help kids succeed.
It takes caring mentors, such as our trained Club staff.
It takes a safe place, like our Club that is consistently there for the kids we serve. It takes innovative, quality programs designed to empower youth to excel in school and lead healthy, productive lives. We do Whatever It Takes to ensure all kids have a great future.
OUR PROGRAMS

Power Hour

(Homework Time)

The first hour every afternoon is called PowerHour. This is one hour devoted to homework, reading, educational worksheets, or anything related to success in school.

Following PowerHour is a short snack break.  Then members are allowed to choose from multiple age-appropriate structured programs that vary from month-to-month.  The last hour of the afternoon is free time for fun and relaxation while kids are being picked up by family members.
